I'm a professional classical musician who dabbles in creative writing. This site showcases some of my short stories, thoughts and reviews that are a result of my experiences in the world of music. Words instead of notes.

Musicians prefer to let their music do the talking on stage. But there can be a lot of words back stage! Green rooms are full of anecdotes, opinions and yarns. This e-journal - a work in progress - contains some of those yarns.

I was named after the wonderful British music theatre star of the 1950s, Kay Kendall. Her first name had no 'e' because there was nothing silent about her.
